The School of Pharmacy offers two postgraduate educational programs leading to the conferment of
- the Master Degree
- the Doctorate Degree
Candidates of the Master program, may be specialized in one of the followed scientific areas:
- Μedicinal Chemistry, Development of Pharmaceutical Compounds
- Pharmaceutical Technology
- Pharmaceutical Biotechnology – Molecular diagnostics
- Pharmacology and therapeutics
- Pharmacognosy – Plant pharmaceutical products
Applicants
Graduates who can apply are: Pharmacists, Chemists, Biologists, Medical Doctors, Dentists, Veterinarians, Agriculturists, Foresters and Chemical Engineers.
Graduates who are not Pharmacists may need to attend certain, maximal three, undergraduate courses. The number and kind of courses, if needed, will be decided by the Postgraduate Education Committee and the General Assembly of the School. The Assembly will take into account the scientific background of the candidate and the area of choice.
Duration
The Master program has a duration of 4 semesters.
Language
The Master program is kept in the greek language. Foreign candidates must be capable to confirm their skills in the greek language. Alternatively, courses in modern greek are offered by the School of Modern Greek Language at the AUTh (http://smg.web.auth.gr/wordpress/?lang=en).
Doctorate program
Applicants
Eligible applicants include holders of an undergraduate and an Master degree from the Schools of Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biology, Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Science, Agriculture, Forestry and Chemical Engineering.
Duration
For students with related Master degree, the program has a minimum duration of 3 years.
